OPENING RECEPTION "Forcing Feelings Into Shape Molds" by Beka Goedde

VERSE Work/Shop is pleased to present Forcing Feelings Into Shape Molds, a solo exhibition by Beka Goedde.

Beka Goedde is a sculptor and printmaker who has exhibited work at Al Held Foundation (Boiceville, NY), American Academy of Arts and Letters (New York, NY), Galerie Rene Blouin (Montreal, Canada), Soloway (Brooklyn, NY), Sunday Takeout (Brooklyn, NY), Zane Bennett Gallery (Santa Fe, NM), Inside Out Art Museum (Beijing, China), Deborah Berke Partners (NY, NY), Verse Work Shop (Red Hook, NY), Assembly Room (NY, NY), and Helen Day Art Center (Stowe, VT) among other venues. Goedde received an MFA in Sculpture from Bard College, and holds a BA from Barnard College in Behavioral Neuroscience and Philosophy. Goedde has been awarded residencies at Cill Rialaig, Obracadobra, Interlude, Yaddo, Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency, Millay Colony, Women’s Studio Workshop, and PS122. Goedde co-founded the design label E for Effort in 2010, which since has been carried in The New Museum (NY, NY), The Jewish Museum (NY, NY), The Whitney Museum (NY, NY), Toledo Art Museum (Toledo, OH), Available Items (Tivoli, NY), Artware Editions (NY, NY), and Special Special (NY, NY), among other exhibitions and venues. Goedde has taught printmaking or sculpture foundations at City College New York, MassArt, NYU, and Columbia University, and has been on the faculty of the Studio Arts department teaching printmaking, drawing and natural dyes coursework at Bard College since 2015.

This show will remain on view February 1 - February 23 during hours as listed, or by appointment, always. All are encouraged to attend the Opening Reception on Thursday, February 6th - Come celebrate, enjoy a refreshment, and talk shop.
